The graphic qualities of this overshirt owe a lot to the sublime invention (a loom allowing the creation of patterns by interweaving colored threads) of Joseph Marie Jacquard, an invention which has been greatly improved recently by computers.
The relief embossed weave of this overshirt and its grid pattern were executed using the Jacquard process.

Double grid
On the navy blue background of the fabric, the pattern can be read on two scales: first, drawn in white, it is a grid of tiny rectangles.
Then, on this first grid is drawn in navy blue a second grid of rectangles much larger than the first.
Striking pattern
Optical illusion
The pattern does not leave you indifferent. We can see it as an optical illusion where, through the first network of meshes, we can distinguish the distant image of the second. Whatever its meaning, the image expresses a striking graphic motif.
Comfortable
A loose fit
The loose cut provides comfort and ease of movement of the bust and arms. This cut is a little closer to that of a jacket.

ASYMMETRICAL POCKETS
The Quadrille overshirt has two asymmetrical 10 by 13 chest pockets. When worn, the one on the right has a flap while the other has a different closing system.
