The right drying for a honeycomb piece
Japanese honeycomb fleece is an exceptional material. It is airy, durable, malleable, pleasant to wear, textured and very elegant. This is the reason why our honeycomb sweatshirts and hoodies have been a great success and have become timeless at Benjamin Jezequel.
But, so that you can wear it as long as possible, a piece in such a material requires a little delicacy. Let's see together what are the right actions to take for ideal drying of your sweatshirt or hoodie.
Wash your garment following the instructions on the composition label. Spin it with a low spin program (eg: 400 rpm).
Take it out of your machine or the basin if hand washing is recommended.
How to hang your sweatshirt or hoodie?
Hanging your laundry on lines hanging from the windows as in the imagination of Italian cities is very charming, but unfortunately not recommended for this type of fleece.
Indeed, the structure of the honeycomb which gives it all its qualities (its pleasant wear, its solidity, its relief) also has the property of being able to stretch enormously. If you hang your sweatshirt to dry on a hanger or on a line, all the weight of the water accumulated at the bottom will stretch it. Your sweatshirt will dry out in this position and will remain deformed. Suffice to say that this time the earth's attraction is not our friend.
So how to do it? Simply lay your beautiful fleece flat. To avoid damaging the support on which you place it, and above all, to better absorb water, we advise you to place a towel under the garment .
Thanks to this little trick, your sweatshirt or hoodie will regain its original shape and fit you like the first day.
Finally, to iron it, it is best to turn it inside out, checking that the side seams are straight, to avoid the twisting effect.
